A year ago, OGC introduced a fresh new look for Ladybug Brand™, our growing line of certified organic fruits and vegetables grown on farms big and small by farmers in the Northwest and beyond. The Ladybug Brand product line is expanding to include products with year-round availability and the packaging will be evolving in the future as we aim to reduce the use of plastic.
In addition to representing high-quality organic products, Ladybug Brand is a meaningful expression of OGC’s purpose and mission, with a portion of sales donated to nonprofit organizations working to cultivate a more equitable, resilient and just organic food system. OGC originally started as an agricultural marketing cooperative, so since the beginning, the purpose of our company and brand has been to serve growers and Ladybug Brand helps to further that mission.
“Our Ladybug Brand was created in the ‘80s to help the farmer members of our original co-op sell their product to markets outside the region,” said Mike Boyle, OGC’s VP of Sales & Sourcing. “Packing under a cohesive brand improved sales and helped retail buyers relate to the product line. As part of our brand refresh, we not only updated our Ladybug logo but also made the decision to expand our grower partnerships beyond the Pacific Northwest. We want to help as many organic growers sell their produce as we possibly can.”
