Meet OGC’s Jeff Fairchild: Decades of Experience in Merchandising for Growth

Northwest born and raised, produce pro Jeff Fairchild found his love for changing the world through food while in Eugene at the University of Oregon. Back in Portland, he volunteered at Food Front Cooperative while driving a delivery truck for his family’s business, craving something more fulfilling. This desire turned into a four-decade-long career.  

A pivotal figure in the success of both the Nature's and New Seasons Market chains in Portland, Jeff was responsible for buying, merchandising, planning ads and training a team. Jeff got really good at setting promotions to hit financial goals. 

Jeff joined OGC in early 2023, with 40 years of produce retail experience, relationships with hundreds of farmers and a professor-like interest in sharing his knowledge. Whether it’s merchandising, buying, margins or staffing, he’s eager to help.
