At Organically Grown Company (OGC), we believe that business can be a force for good. That’s why we are proud to be one of the first 14 companies participating in the Purpose Pledge, a new community designed for companies that prioritize positive impact. 

The Purpose Pledge brings together businesses committed to operating in a way that benefits all stakeholders — this means supporting growers, customers, coworkers, communities and the Earth. Companies who join the Pledge promise to hold themselves accountable and collaborate with others to drive meaningful change. 

What is the Purpose Pledge? 

The Purpose Pledge is more than just words; it’s a shared commitment to responsible business practices. Created by Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps, worker cooperative consultancy LIFT Economy and the nonprofit organization One Step Closer, the Pledge outlines 10 key commitments that companies must strive to meet. These commitments define what it means to run a business that truly values people and the planet. 

The community behind the Purpose Pledge supports companies in the food and beverage, health and wellness, personal care and apparel sectors — especially those whose products come from land or ocean supply webs. By providing guidance and support, the Pledge helps businesses stay accountable and grow sustainably. 

OGC’s Role in the Purpose Pledge 

As one of the pilot companies, OGC is embarking on a multi-year journey to meet the 10 Purpose Pledge commitments. Alongside other purpose-driven brands like Lundberg Family Farms, Nature’s Path Organic Foods, Mountain Rose Herbs and Guayakí Yerba Mate, we will share knowledge, overcome challenges and work toward a more ethical economy.
