We’re Growing Our Commitment to Organic Citrus

There’s something pretty special about biting into a perfectly sweet, juicy Satsuma mandarin. For decades, Johansen Ranch has been behind some of those moments — growing organic citrus so good, it practically has a fan club (don’t deny it, we know you’re part of it).

Now, we’re excited to share a juicy update (pun fully intended): OGC is officially the new steward of Johansen Ranch. Yep, we’ve acquired this iconic organic citrus farm, and we couldn’t be more honored to carry its legacy forward.

How It All Came Together

Rich Johansen, the humble organic legend, reached out to us about preserving his farm’s future as he looked toward retirement. It was a huge honor. Rich has poured his heart into growing some of the best citrus in the organic game. He approached us to step into his boots and to make him proud. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

 What this Means for You

  • Same Amazing Citrus, Zero Disruptions: Whether it’s Satsuma mandarins or Meyer lemons, the Johansen fruit you love isn’t going anywhere. Same fields, same care, same "picked-at-their-peak" magic.

  • No Drama, Just Deliciousness: We’re keeping things seamless. Johansen Ranch will operate as an entity under OGC, so you’ll keep getting the citrus quality you know and trust without skipping a beat.

  • No Changes to Our Citrus Sourcing: Let’s make one thing crystal clear—this doesn’t change how we work with our other incredible citrus growers. Every grower in our program is essential to delivering the vibrant, diverse lineup OGC customers crave. This move brings continuity to the whole program, so we can continue to meet the ever-growing enthusiasm for citrus.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just about a farm—it’s about a shared commitment to organic agriculture, to keeping soil healthy and fruit juicy, and to make sure the next generation gets to enjoy all of it. By bringing Johansen Ranch into the OGC family, we’re doubling down on what we believe in: quality, sustainability and the power of organic farming.

What’s Next

We’re proud, we’re humbled and yes, we’re a little giddy. This isn’t just about business; it’s about carrying a torch for organic farming and all the hardworking hands behind it. So, here’s to keeping things tasty, keeping it real and growing a better future—one perfectly sweet mandarin at a time.

Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, thank you for being part of this journey with us.
